Our **ATEX** solutions comply with Directive 2014/34/EU and provide certified equipment to operate in zones where the presence of combustible gases, vapours or dusts is constant or likely. ### **Classification and Technical Certification** The design of our ATEX luminaires focuses on ignition prevention through flameproof enclosures and increased safety construction: - **Zone Classification:** Equipment suitable for **Zone 1, Zone 2 (Gases)** and **Zone 21, Zone 22 (Dust)**. - **Temperature Classes:** Certifications from **T1 to T6** to suit the ignition point of each chemical substance. - **Construction Materials:** Copper-free aluminium alloys and tempered glass diffusers resistant to thermal shock. #### **Comparison of ATEX Zones** **Zone****Risk of Explosive Atmosphere****Luminaire Requirement**Zone 1 / 21Likely under normal conditionsHigh protection (Ex d, Ex eb)Zone 2 / 22Unlikely or for short periodsStandard ATEX protection (Ex nR) ### **FAQs: ATEX Safety** **What does "Ex d" protection mean?** It is a flameproof enclosure designed to contain an internal explosion and prevent it from being transmitted to the surrounding atmosphere. **Is preventive maintenance mandatory for these luminaires?** Yes. According to **EN 60079-17**, ATEX installations must undergo periodic inspections to ensure that the seals and safety gaskets have not degraded.
